Version 1: Oil Drum BBQ
For my first upcycled BBQ, I used an old oil drum to make a large party-size BBQ.
One half could be used to cook on, while the other half became a fully hinged lid. I also made the grill to fit the drum.
Version 2: Gas Bottle BBQ
For the second BBQ, I used an empty gas bottle to make a smaller BBQ.
The bottle opens lengthways and both halves can be used to cook on – this is great as you have 2 separate cooking surfaces, meaning you can keep different foods (eg. meat vs non-meat) separate while cooking. The sides are hinged and can be folded back together and clipped closed for storage.
